Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools

Welcome to the New School Year:
Welcome to what promises to be an exciting year for our school division. As the changing imagery suggests within our web page, Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools continues on an annual basis to find ways to enhance the engagement of your son/daughter in student learning.
The greatest promise for all of our students this year will be a new faith theme, Called to be God’s Own People; Called to be Church. Our community stakeholders' meeting last year communicated that the incorporation of faith within all teachable moments is a strong priority of our supporters. To this end, our schools will continue their proud legacy of focusing on community service and social justice projects, as well as exploring ways to enhance faith discovery within the classroom and celebrations that are held throughout the school year.
We know that the learning potential of all students becomes maximized when we purposefully activate their psychological and emotional attachment to learning, retain their sense of hope in being successful learners, and remain attentive to their sense of “well-being” at school. For this reason, we will be expanding our efforts to survey and respond to data associated with overall student engagement throughout the upcoming year.
Lastly, we are very excited with opportunities to enhance parental engagement within our schools. You can expect that our divisional and school leadership teams will be studying literature and best practices associated with this theme, and that you will experience first hand the difference made by these efforts.
When we say that we have “faith in our students,” we need to believe that this same statement of belief is true for every level that supports their learning. Thank you for re-committing to a relationship with our 17 schools that enables us to make you a partner in their education, and therefore further our vision for excellence in education for every learner.
I would encourage you to contact any of our 17 school communities through the contact information available on this web page to explore the opportunities that await your child for the upcoming school year.
May you and your family be abundantly blessed throughout the upcoming year.
- David Keohane, Superintendent of Schools
