Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Joseph Dumont as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resource Services.

“We are delighted to welcome Mr. Dumont to the Division,” says Dr. Clint Moroziuk, Superintendent of Schools.

“Mr. Dumont is known as a committed faith leader, innovator, and strong collaborator with staff and community stakeholders.”

Mr. Dumont currently serves as principal of a large urban high school in Sherwood Park with Elk Island Catholic Schools and brings a variety of experiences from over 20 years in education. In addition to serving in his current location and assignment, as well as past roles in rural elementary and elementary-junior high schools, he has served in Catholic education as a teacher, teacher-counselor, and assistant principal in a variety of school settings. Mr. Dumont has also been a curriculum consultant with Edmonton Catholic Schools, an education manager with Alberta Education, and an instructor at the University of Alberta.

Mr. Dumont holds an M.Ed. from the University of Alberta, specializing in Educational Psychology, School Counselling, and a B.Ed. degree from the University of Alberta.

Mr. Dumont and his family are active members and volunteers with their local Catholic parish in Sherwood Park.

“I am excited to meet the staff and to get to know the communities in Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools,” says Mr. Dumont. “I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve our students and families in this new role.”

Mr. Dumont will commence his new role on Nov. 9, 2020.
