Exploring our Kindergarten Programs

To attend kindergarten your child must be five years of age before March 1st of the school year currently enrolled.

This means that your child could start kindergarten in September at the age of four, as long as he or she turns five before the following March 1st.

Starting kindergarten is a big step for you and your child. The word kindergarten comes from a German word that means "children's garden". Kindergarten is a place for your child to grow and learn. Your child's development and well-being are what matter to us. We want this important first step toward a Catholic education to be a memorable experience for both of you.

We recognize that families appreciate choice in the type of programs to best suit their child and schedule needs. Our district provides a range of options that accommodate a range of family needs and interestes including:

  • French Immersion
  • *Full-day Everyday - children attend school Monday through Friday, full days.
  • Full-day Alternating days - children attend school for full days on a set schedule of days.
  • Half-day Programs - options will include morning and/or afternoon classes.
  • *Progressive Program - children attend half days until the spring and transition to full days later in the school year.

*This program option does have an additional fee beyond the basic kindergarten fee. Please inquire at your school of choice.

Our approach in all of our kindergarten classrooms is to provide a learning environment that focuses on play balanced with teacher instruction to develop your child as a confident learner going into grade one.
