Announcement: School Athletics Postponed
To protect the health and safety of our students and staff, Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools, Conseil scolaire Centre-Nord, St. Albert Public Schools, and Sturgeon Public Schools have made the joint decision to postpone all school-based extracurricular junior and senior high athletics in St. Albert and area until after Christmas.
This decision was not made lightly and is a result of the significant increase in COVID-19 cases in our communities. We know how important athletics are to many of our students, and we hope to be able to provide our student-athletes with the opportunity to participate and compete later this school year.
We will monitor the situation in the upcoming months to determine if it is safe to resume athletics, with COVID-19 safety measures in place, in the new year.

Le Conseil scolaire Centre-Nord, Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools, St. Albert Public Schools, et Sturgeon Public Schools ont pris une décision conjointe que toutes les activités de sports parascolaires seront reportées après le congé de Noël afin de protéger la sécurité et la santé de nos élèves et de notre personnel.
Cette décision n'a pas été prise à la légère et est le résultat de l'augmentation importante des cas de la COVID-19 dans nos communautés. Nous savons à quel point ces activités sont importantes pour bon nombre de nos élèves et nous espérons pouvoir offrir à nos étudiants-athlètes la possibilité de participer à ces activités plus tard cette année.
Nous surveillerons la situation dans les mois à venir pour déterminer s'il est sécuritaire de reprendre les sports scolaires, avec les mesures de sécurité COVID-19 en place, au cours de la nouvelle année.
