The start of construction on St. Kateri Tekakwitha Academy in Morinville was celebrated on February 19 with a Sod Turning Ceremony on the future school site.
The chilly temperatures were warmed by the voices of the École Dame School Choir who joined dignitaries from the province, Town of Morinville and the district to mark this milestone for education in Morinville. The Honourable Minister of Education, David Eggen brought greetings on behalf of the province and Board Chair, Joe Becigneul commented on the significance of the namesake for the school, St. Kateri. "During her short but profound life, St. Kateri was an exemplary model and witness to our Catholic faith."
