Students, Parents/Legal Guardians, and Staff

Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen! As we emerge from the sacred celebration of Easter, our hearts remain lifted by the joy of the Resurrection and the promise of new life, renewed hope, and enduring love. The Easter season reminds us that, even through suffering and uncertainty, Christ’s victory over death invites us into a life filled with grace, purpose, and peace.

Yet, in the midst of this season of joy, we also find ourselves united in sorrow as we mourn the passing of Pope Francis. His life of humility, compassion, and steadfast commitment to the Gospel has left an indelible mark on the Church and on the hearts of countless people around the world. As a spiritual shepherd, he inspired us to walk gently with one another, to serve the marginalized, and to live our faith with courage and authenticity.

In this time of both celebration and mourning, we come together in gratitude for the example of Pope Francis and in renewed commitment to live out the Easter message of hope and love in our schools, homes, and communities.

Exciting New GPS Tracking for School Buses
We’re excited to share that our school division is launching a new GPS tracking system for all GSACRD school buses! This innovative tool will allow our Transportation Department to monitor every bus in real time from one centralized system. By enhancing our ability to track routes and respond quickly to changing conditions, this technology helps us support safe and efficient transportation for all students.

We are proud to be one of the only school divisions in Alberta offering this level of instant access to transportation information, enhancing both safety and peace of mind for families.

The full announcement with more details will be shared in May. The GPS tracking feature will go live in June, and student ridership scanning will come online over the summer and be available in time for the first day of school in September.

We can’t wait to roll out this new technology and keep families better connected with their child’s transportation. Stay tuned for more in May!

Mental Health Week - May 5 to 11, 2025

As we observe Mental Health Week from May 5–11, we reflect on this year’s national theme: “Unmasking Mental Health.” Many who live with mental health challenges often feel the need to hide behind a “mask” to shield themselves from judgment or stigma. This week, we are called to look beyond appearances and embrace honesty, vulnerability, and connection. In doing so, we live out our faith theme, “Growing in Mercy with the Son,” by extending Christ-like compassion and understanding to those around us.

Blessings for the Month of Mary

As we welcome the month of May, we turn our hearts in a special way to Mary, the Mother of God and our model of faith, humility, and love. In our Catholic tradition, May is a time to honour Mary for answering “yes” to God and her role in guiding us ever closer to her Son, Jesus. Through prayer, reflection, and devotion, especially the Rosary, we are invited to walk with Mary and draw strength from her example of grace and trust. Hallow (the website and the app) is a great resource to assist in praying the Rosary during this month of Mary and throughout the year.  May Our Lady intercede for our families and school communities and bless us with peace during this beautiful season of renewal.

In Christ,

Dr. Clint Moroziuk

Superintendent of Schools
