Superintendent’s Update: Students, Parents/Legal Guardians, and Staff
As we approach the joyous season of Christmas and prepare to bid farewell to 2024, we take this moment to reflect on the many blessings of the first four months of this school year. Together, as students, staff, and families of Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools, we have grown in faith, hope, and love, creating vibrant learning spaces rooted in mercy and grace. This season of Advent invites us to pause and embrace the gift of Christ’s light in our lives - a light that shines brightly through the compassion, dedication, and joy that each of you brings to our community. May this Christmas be a time of peace, renewal, and deep gratitude for all that we have shared and accomplished together.

Advent Campaign Update: Supporting the "Care-A-Van" Project
This Advent season, Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools is proud to partner with Catholic Social Services Sign of Hope to support the "Care-A-Van" project, a vital initiative addressing the needs of unhoused individuals in Edmonton’s underserved outer-city areas. The "Care-A-Van" provides food, water, and clothing delivered with compassion while also building relationships to connect individuals with resources such as medical support, ID clinics, detox, recovery, employment, and housing when they are ready to take the next step toward improving their lives.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our school communities, we have raised $4,625 so far! Donations to this year’s Advent Challenge will continue to support this life-changing project and help CSS create sustainable change for those in need. The campaign closes on January 15—let’s continue making a difference together! Click here to learn more or make a donation.
Thank you to our families and staff for your kindness and support this Advent season—we couldn’t do it without you!
Spreading Hope Through Acts of Kindness
For 20 years, our division has partnered with the Edmonton Remand Centre to bring hope and dignity to some of our most marginalized people. Every Christmas season, we invite families to have their children decorate gift bags filled with small tokens of care and compassion for those at the Centre. This long-standing initiative is a beautiful example of how we live our faith in action, sharing love and kindness with those in need.
We would love to share this very meaningful video with you, showcasing the immense impact these Christmas bags have made. Watch "Faith in Action" on our Facebook page here: Faith in Action Video.
Thank you to our families, students, and staff for supporting this incredible initiative year after year. Your efforts embody the true spirit of Catholic education and make a real difference in our community!
Division Calendars
The GSACRD Division Calendars for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years are now available on our website! Click here to view them. We are grateful to all stakeholders for their engagement and feedback throughout the development and review process.
Christmas Blessings
I want to offer you the following Prayer for Christmas Dinner courtesy of “A Catholic Moment” that you and your families may wish to use at your tables as you celebrate our Saviour’s Nativity:
Eternal God, This joyful day is radiant with the brilliance of your one true light.
May that light illuminate our hearts and shine in our words and deeds.
May the hope, the peace, the joy, and the love represented by the birth in Bethlehem
fill our lives and become part of all that we say and do.
May we share the divine life of your son Jesus Christ,
even as he humbled himself to share our humanity.
Bless us and the feast that You have provided for us,
let us be thankful for the true gift of Christmas, your Son.
Amen.
Thank you for choosing Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools! It is our profound privilege to serve in partnership with each one of you, nurturing the faith, learning, and well-being of every student entrusted to our care. May God grant you and your families abundant blessings as we celebrate Christmas and throughout 2025!
In peace and joy,
Dr. Clint Moroziuk
